Admission to The SMART Jewelry Store is granted only to retailers of finished jewelry whose primary business is the purchase and resale of finished jewelry operating from a commercial retail location.
Retailer Qualifications
Admission will not be granted to the general public; non-exhibiting manufacturers, suppliers, loose stone dealers or designers; individuals operating businesses from home; or children under the age of 14 (including infants).
Retailers must meet one of the following qualifications:
- qualified and attended 2009, 2010, or 2011 show
- listed in JBT as a retailer jeweler
- retail member of Jewelers of America
- retail member of state jewelers associations
- retail members of the American Gem Society
- member of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers
- Jewelry Bench Professional - JA Certified Master Bench
- verified students in jewelry arts programs (allowed entrance only on Monday, April 23, 2012)
If you do not meet any of the above qualifications, you must provide all of the following:
- copy of your store lease or photograph of the inside and outside of your store
- copy of your sales tax certificate
- copy of invoices from three suppliers for multiple purchases totaling $10,000 or more of finished jewelry made within the past 12 months
Wholesaler Qualifications
Wholesalers must:
- be listed in JBT as a wholesaler
- provide a copy of invoices from five different suppliers for multiple purchases totaling $20,000 or more of finished jewelry made with the past 12 months
